Megan Wright

Solicitor, Criminal Defence Department

Megan Wright is a Solicitor in our Criminal Defence Department. She advises and represents clients at police stations and in Magistrates’ Court proceedings, helping individuals navigate the criminal justice system with confidence and clarity.

Megan joined Phillips Solicitors in April 2026, bringing with her several years of experience in criminal defence. Before joining the firm, she spent more than four years with another criminal defence practice, where she completed her training contract and subsequently gained post-qualification experience as a solicitor.

Megan holds an LLB, completed in 2021, followed by the Legal Practice Course (LPC) in 2022. She achieved her Police Station Qualification in 2024 and qualified as a Solicitor in May 2025.

Her work focuses on police station representation and Magistrates’ Court cases, including contested hearings and trials. She regularly assists clients from the earliest stages of an investigation through to the conclusion of their case, ensuring they receive clear advice and practical support at every stage.

Megan has a particular interest in cases involving animals, including dangerous dog matters. She enjoys the varied nature of criminal defence work and the opportunity to work closely with clients facing a wide range of legal issues.

What Megan enjoys most about her role is helping clients through what can often be a daunting and unfamiliar process. She understands that many people will never have attended a police station or court before and appreciates the importance of taking the time to answer questions, explain procedures and provide reassurance. Her approachable manner and commitment to client care help clients feel informed and supported throughout their case.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time outdoors and has a particular passion for horses, owning two of her own. She is also a fan of country music and live concerts. She also enjoys travelling, attending festivals, and making the most of opportunities to explore new places.
